to one of the finest crusing areas in Scotland. Sail Orkney operates from its base at Kirkwall Marina offering Bareboat and Skippered Charters.
This
quiet green and fertile land offers exploration and gentle
cruising with spectacular scenery. You will find a warm welcome
ashore with excellent facilities to match.

Orkney
has two distinct cruising areas; over 40 islands and skerries
lie to the north of the Orkney Mainland, of which 12 are inhabited;
here you will find excellent cruising in relative security
and never far from a safe haven.
|
To the south
lies the deepest natural harbour in Northern Europe - Scapa Flow
- which is world renowned for it's dramatic wreck diving holidays.
Like the North Isles you will find an abundance of natural wildlife
and snug anchorages.
From diving
the sunken warships of the Flow or hillwalking the heights of Hoy,
to enjoying that special meal on Westray or exploring the ancient
monuments of Rousay, you will find there's even more to Orkney than
fine sailing and beautiful anchorages.
Such is the
diversity and delight both afloat and ashore you will need more
than a week to soak up the laid back atmosphere and enjoy this unique
area at its best.
A Gateway to
new horizons - Orkney lies at the hub of a wider North of Scotland cruising area with Inverness, the Moray Firth and Wick to the south and Fair Isle and Shetland to the north. This unique cruising area presents a wide range of options for your cruising itinerery.

Sail Orkney
offers the opportunity to explore and discover a whole new
world of cruising - bareboat charter, skippered charters and
one-way passages.
Our new Elan Impression 434, Catherine J, was launched in 2008. Designed by Rob Humphries she provides spacious accommodation, excellent sea keeping qualities, and a fast passage making capability.

One way passages
are an ideal way to make the most of your limited time; we could
deliver for a start in Inverness, allowing you to cruise up the
Moray Firth, calling at Lossiemouth, Helmsdale, Wick and others
to cruise the Orkney Islands
- or perhaps
-
you might start
from Orkney, cruise the islands at your leisure; calling past Fair
Isle and finish in Shetland from where you will be able to fly/ferry
home and we will collect the boat.

The
possibilities are endless, the choice is yours. As a small family
run business we are happy to discuss your requirements and will
